Hutting Brokerage is a division of Hutting Yachts Shipyard, specializing in the construction of fully and semi custom-built aluminum sailing yachts. Our experienced craftsmen understand the true value of yachts and can provide direct advice on needed optimizations for a valuable deal. Hutting Brokerage goes beyond being just a broker, ensuring a worry-free process, whether you sell or buy a yacht.
Hutting Yachts' philosophy is rooted in a passion for sailing and yacht building, dating back to the company’s inception in 1975. Safety and quality are paramount for achieving optimal freedom—qualities you seek in your dream yacht. By seamlessly integrating these elements, we craft 100% custom-built yachts, always maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. This ensures maximum freedom for an owner to design a yacht according to their preferences in sailing style and desired destination. Whether it's a new build or a refitted brokerage yacht for a new owner, our goal is to guarantee your perfect match in a sailing yacht.
Hutting Yachts offers the construction of semi-custom-built aluminum sailing yachts ranging from 40 to 56 feet. Collaborating with architects such as Koopmans, Van Oossanen, and Hoek Design, and we can present various models, all designed as all-round ocean cruisers, exclusively crafted for the owner.
With over 40 years of expertise in constructing custom-built aluminum sailing yachts up to 85ft, we specialize in projects that require exceptional skills. Whether it's a complete refit of the rigging, exterior, and interior, or preparing the yacht for special travel conditions.
We exclusively use FCS certified Teakwood and have a team of highly specialized craftsmen who adhere to HISWA guidelines and trade association laws and regulations. Explore our diverse range of activities and recent projects on our website.
Makkum is also called the Silicon Valley of the yacht building industry, with many shipyards located in this little village in the north of the Netherlands. With just a 1.5-hour drive from Schiphol Airport, it is ideally located for international sailors to schedule a viewing or to visit their yacht. Trial sails can easily be made at the Ijsselmeer or even further; sailing further up north at the Waddensea.
With the construction of wooden regatta dinghies like ‘Valken’ and ‘Regenbogen,’ Hutting Yachts was founded in 1975 by Tjerk Hutting. As he fully optimized the designs, many of his yachts won races, including the national championships, resulting in many new orders. He further developed his expertise, and ten years later, he launched the first Hutting 40, designed by Koopmans Senior. Based on this success, he developed a range between 40 – 56ft, resulting in the worldwide-known shipyard as it is today.
Beyond business, Hutting Yachts has evolved into a family company, with Tjerk, his wife, daughter, and two youngest sons now integral parts of the company. Together with the skilled team of craftsmen, we achieve success by combining our passion for crafting the finest yachts. As Tjerk always emphasizes, “Do what you love, and success will follow.”
